I Will Solo

Solo mining odds calculator — Fast. Private. Transparent.

Zcash Calculator

Calculate your chances of finding a Zcash block as a solo miner. Privacy-focused cryptocurrency with shielded transactions.

How It Works

🧮

The Math

Your probability of finding a block is proportional to your hashrate vs the total network hashrate. We use P(≥1 block) = 1 − (1 − p)n where n is the number of blocks in the period.

Steps

  • Select your coin above
  • Enter your hashrate in any unit
  • Hit Calculate — results are instant
  • No data is ever sent anywhere
🔒

100% Private

All calculations happen in your browser. No server, no tracking, no account needed. The network stats are based on public data — your numbers never leave your device.

Network Data

I Will Solo is an open tool for solo Zcash miners who want to understand their odds of hitting a block based on their hashrate. Zcash uses the Equihash algorithm and offers optional privacy features through zero-knowledge proofs.

Assumptions & Notes

  • Algorithm: Equihash
  • Network hashrate: ~14112310.34 GH/s
  • Block time: ~75 seconds
  • Network hashrate based on Equihash algorithm.
  • Results are educational, not financial advice.
  • Solo mining is rare and high-risk — but possible.

FAQ

While GPUs can mine Zcash using the Equihash algorithm (200,9), ASIC miners like the Antminer Z15 are far more efficient. Solo mining with GPUs is possible but the odds are much lower. Zcash's relatively low network hashrate makes it more accessible than Bitcoin for solo miners.
Zcash offers optional privacy through zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs), allowing fully shielded transactions. It uses the Equihash algorithm and has a ~75-second block time. The combination of privacy features and proof-of-work makes it unique among major cryptocurrencies.
The current Zcash block reward is 2.5 ZEC after the November 2024 halving. With approximately 1,152 blocks per day, about 2,880 ZEC are mined daily across the entire network.

It's hard, but not impossible 🎯

Finding a Zcash block with a small hashrate is extremely rare — but it's not impossible. Just like winning the lottery or flipping ten heads in a row, statistically improbable events do happen. Every day, someone somewhere gets lucky. Maybe that someone could be you. ⛏️

Event Estimated Odds
Getting struck by lightning in a year 1 in 1,220,000
Flipping 10 heads in a row 1 in 1,024
Being dealt a royal flush in poker 1 in 649,740
Winning the lottery (EuroMillions) 1 in 139,838,160
Being struck by lightning twice in a week 1 in 9,000,000,000 (estimated)
