I Will Solo

Solo mining odds calculator — Fast. Private. Transparent.

Ethereum Classic Calculator

Calculate your chances of finding an Ethereum Classic block as a solo miner. Post-merge GPU mining.

How It Works

🧮

The Math

Your probability of finding a block is proportional to your hashrate vs the total network hashrate. We use P(≥1 block) = 1 − (1 − p)n where n is the number of blocks in the period.

Steps

  • Select your coin above
  • Enter your hashrate in any unit
  • Hit Calculate — results are instant
  • No data is ever sent anywhere
🔒

100% Private

All calculations happen in your browser. No server, no tracking, no account needed. The network stats are based on public data — your numbers never leave your device.

Network Data

I Will Solo is an open tool for solo Ethereum Classic miners who want to understand their odds of hitting a block based on their hashrate. Ethereum Classic uses the Etchash algorithm and became more popular for GPU miners after Ethereum's merge.

Assumptions & Notes

  • Algorithm: Etchash
  • Network hashrate: ~197.38 TH/s
  • Block time: ~13 seconds
  • Network hashrate based on Etchash algorithm.
  • Results are educational, not financial advice.
  • Solo mining is rare and high-risk — but possible.

FAQ

Ethereum Classic became one of the top GPU mining destinations after Ethereum switched to Proof of Stake in September 2022. It uses the Etchash algorithm (similar to Ethash) and maintains proof-of-work consensus. However, the influx of miners from Ethereum has significantly increased difficulty.
Ethereum Classic has a ~13 second block time, producing about 6,646 blocks per day. This fast block time means solo miners get many more "lottery tickets" per day compared to Bitcoin (144 blocks/day) or Litecoin (576 blocks/day).
Any hashrate gives you a chance, but the odds improve dramatically with more power. A single GPU at 30 MH/s faces very long odds against a ~200 TH/s network. Most successful solo miners use multiple GPUs or small mining farms.

It's hard, but not impossible 🎯

Finding a Ethereum Classic block with a small hashrate is extremely rare — but it's not impossible. Just like winning the lottery or flipping ten heads in a row, statistically improbable events do happen. Every day, someone somewhere gets lucky. Maybe that someone could be you. ⛏️

Event Estimated Odds
Getting struck by lightning in a year 1 in 1,220,000
Flipping 10 heads in a row 1 in 1,024
Being dealt a royal flush in poker 1 in 649,740
Winning the lottery (EuroMillions) 1 in 139,838,160
Being struck by lightning twice in a week 1 in 9,000,000,000 (estimated)
